Maryetta School is located near the end of the "Trail of Tears" in Adair County's "Green Country," a very rural, economically depressed area of Northeastern Oklahoma. The 700+ three-year old preschool thru 8th grade student population is composed of 83% Native American enrollment. Maryetta School is the center of this rural community. OUR PHILOSOPHY: We believe in a flexible program based upon the best techniques from old and new
philosophies of education, individualized and enriched by the initiative and ability of the teacher. We believe in providing personal facilities and supplies to assure total group development and adequate individual achievement to the highest potential. We believe in continuing professional growth. The staff and faculty of Watts Public Schools will prepare our students for tomorrow's challenges today. We are located in Adair County, Oklahoma, just west of the Arkansas/Oklahoma state line. You can find us on Oklahoma State Highway 59. Watts Public School is a Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) - 12 grade school. We also have a Head Start program sponsored by the Cookson Hills Community Action. Our total student population is approximately 400.
