Bay-Arenac ISD began the Strategic Planning Process in September 2003 following an assessment of the status of programs, services, and operations of the entire organization. According to Mike Dewey, Superintendent, the Strategic Planning Process is:A process by which an organization examines its Mission, Vision, and Beliefs and Values. An opportunity for staff and community members to come together to examine what has been done in the past and what can be done in the future. An alignment-possible revision-of the Mission Statement and Beliefs with what we do best.Members of Bay-Arenac ISD's staff, Board of Education, staff from multiple local school districts, and community organizations identified 11 strategic areas which would comprise the revised Strategic Plan.
