The Martins Ferry City School District has a long and proud tradition of educating our students in such a way that they are prepared to enter the adult world and become productive members of our community. Our achievement and graduation test scores have been exemplary, but you can be assured that we will not rest on our laurels but continue to strive for educational excellence. We will continue to challenge our staff and our students to improve in all facets of the educational process. The staff will hold ourselves accountable to make sure that each and every child we service will see improvement in their educational career.

The educational community will reflect an atmosphere of mutual respect and academic excellence. Our students will possess problem-solving, critical-thinking and communication skills with the versatility to adapt to a constantly changing world. The Union Local School District is comprised of hard working people in a rural area encompassing one hundred-fifty (150) square miles and several proud communities: Centerville, Belmont, Bethesda, Morristown, Flushing, Holloway, Uniontown, Jacobsburg and Lafferty. The High School (9-12), Middle School (6-8) and Elementary School (PreK-5) are located on a beautiful 100+ acre state of the art campus. Our District is proud of the fact that we can maintain a 16 to 1 student/teacher ratio. There are 105 certified staff and 55 classified staff who maintain a high standard of professional ethics and that have a caring attitude towards our children. We have outstanding facilities, outstanding curriculum and outstanding staff. The Union Local School District has been an effective district for the past seven years.
