The Battenkill Valley Supervisory Union consists of the Arlington School District and Sandgate School District. Fisher Elementary School serves 185 students, Pre-Kindergarten to Grade Five. Arlington Middle School serves students in grades 6-8 with a General curriculum, an Honors program and an Accelerated Academy for students who wish take classes at an advanced grade level. Arlington Memorial High School & Middle School serves 185 students and offers numerous Advanced Placement & Honors courses along with general classes and a technical education program.

Teachers, staff, board members, parents, community members and administrators will work together to utilize resources equitably and effectively, to foster high performance and success for all students. Manchester Elementary Middle School (MEMS) is a K-8 school located in the beautiful Northshire Valley, in Manchester, Vermont. MEMS is committed to engaging all students in academic work. Currently, MEMS has 435 students and 52 teachers. The school strives to maintain class sizes of 13 – 15 in grades K-3. Class sizes in grades 4 – 8 are between 16 and 22 students per section. Our Mission, as a professional learning community, is to engage students in academic work that results in high levels of achievement, responsibility and citizenship. We are confident that, with our support, students will master challenging curricula, and we expect them to do so. We are prepared to work collaboratively to pursue a clear, shared purpose for all student learning and personal growth. As a professional learning community, we take collective responsibility for achieving these goals.

What makes North Bennington Graded School such a special place is the close knit caring environment that is shared among our students, staff, families, and the community we serve. It is often said that this school is the center of the North Bennington Community. All of us at the school cherish the important role our school plays in the lives of our students and the greater community.

Pownal Elementary School is a kindergarten through sixth grade facility with a population that averages about 270 students. A faculty and staff of 60 serve the youngsters. The school has a colorful environment and a warm and friendly climate. As a member of the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union, Pownal students move from PES to Mount Anthony Union Middle School and then on to Mount Anthony Union High School. We have a supportive school board and SVSU administrators. The Parent Teachers Group is a very active organization working with teachers to provide resources and enriched opportunities for our children. Many volunteers (parents, Williams College students, Mount Anthony Union High School students, Career Development Center students, and community elders) offer their time to assist children in learning.

The Shaftsbury Elementary School is our community center for student learning. Our mission is to provide an active and caring learning environment that enables all children to develop to their fullest potential, intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.

The Southwest Vermont Career Development Center is committed to career and lifelong learning to prepare secondary and post secondary students for career and lifelong learning in a rapidly changing world. The SVCDC is located in Historic Bennington, Vermont. It serves high school and adult students from the southwestern region of Vermont and adjacent New York and Massachusetts. We serve high school students from: Serving: Arlington, Bennington, Dorset, Glastenbury, Manchester, No. Bennington, Pownal, Readsboro, Sandgate, Searsburg, Shaftsbury, Sunderland, Twin Valley, and Woodford. We currently offer 20 technical programs and related classes that occupy our state of the art facility by day. In the afternoons, evenings and online, a wide variety of adult education offerings are also available. Adults are welcome to apply for daytime technical programs. A Vermont resident adult without a high school diploma is a secondary student and is eligible for tuition to be paid by their school district. Adults with high school diplomas will be charged a tuition. Financial aid may be available.

The Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union (SVSU) includes six school districts: Bennington, North Bennington, Shaftsbury, Pownal, Woodford and the Mt. Anthony Union School District No. 14 which includes Mt. Anthony Middle and High Schools. The Bennington School District has three K-5 schools Bennington Elementary, Molly Stark Elementary, and Monument Elementary. North Bennington, Shaftsbury, Pownal and Woodford School Districts each have a K-6 elementary school. Mt Anthony Middle School serves Bennington School District's 6th-8th grades and 7th and 8th graders from North Bennington, Shaftsbury, Pownal, and Woodford. Students from all towns in the SVSU attend Mt. Anthony Union High School for 9th-12th grade. Mt. Anthony High School students also have access to the Southwest Vermont Career Development Center located on the same campus.

Sunderland Elementary School is a K-6 elementary school located in Sunderland, Vermont. Our school consists of a Kindergarten class, a combined 1st/2nd Grade class, a combined 3rd/4th Grade Class and a combined 5th/6th Grade class. We are a caring community of teachers, staff, students and parents striving for the best educational experience for our young citizens. Our student body learns from a very young age how to function and be part of a respectful, engaged learning community finding joy in their personal achievements and the achievements of others.
