Pemberton Township Schools serves nearly 5,000 students from Pemberton Township, Pemberton Borough and Fort Dix. Comprised of nine elementary schools, one middle school and one high school, Pemberton Township Schools provides a quality, comprehensive education for students in pre-school through 12th grade. During the 2008-2009 school year, our focus will continue to be on preparing all of our students to reach their highest potential, and to that end we are proud to initiate an innovative program entitled Blueprints for Success. This in-depth program provides proven strategies for accelerating and improving the learning process and stabilizing student behavior. All staff members have been trained in the research-based components of this highly successful program and are eager to implement the progressive ideas to help close the achievement gap, helping all our students attain success.Other exciting developments in the district include recent approval from the State to build a new Early Childhood Center for three and four year olds enrolled in our free Early Childhood program. This comprehensive, play-based educational program gets children started off on the right track and prepares them for a successful school career. Over six hundred preschoolers are enrolled in our Early Childhood Program, which is currently located at six different sites across the district. The new construction--scheduled to break ground early in 2009--will provide a spacious, modern location for nearly three hundred children in this exceptional, free program.Additional initiatives in the upcoming year include expanding our three-tiered electronic monitoring system to the high school. The cutting-edge system, currently in place in our 10 other district schools, ensures the highest level of security for students, staff and parents.Students in all grade levels benefit from our superior technology, as we remain in the forefront of using technology in education. The district computer-to-student ratio is 1 to 2.5, far surpassing the nationally prescribed goal of 1 computer for every five students. In addition, classroom computers, mobile wireless laptop computer labs, stationary computer labs and state-of-the-art media centers provide students across the district with Internet access and the finest technology available. We continue to promote high academic achievement among all learners by providing a rigorous curriculum that is aligned with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Small class size in our elementary schools provides an optimal learning environment, while block scheduling at our middle and high school levels allows students to delve into specific subject areas for significant time periods each semester. Additional programs such as the AVID program (Advancement Via Individual Determination) provides students with the tools they need succeed in Advanced Placement and Honors courses, as well as the motivation to go on to college. Success continues after high school when students further their education at such outstanding universities as MIT, Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, US Air Force Academy, US Military Academy at WestPoint, the US Air Force Academy and many more. Our distinguished Pemberton graduates continue to demonstrate that indeed, ‘You Can Get There From Here."
