MISSION STATEMENT-The mission of SAU #13, through the collaborative efforts and resources available to the tri-town partnership, is to prepare students to become lifelong learners with the highest standards of academic achievement and excellence, and to meet the challenges of self-directed leadership and participation in our competitive global societySchool Administrative Unit #13 includes the School Board Districts of Madison, Tamworth and Freedom. It was initially formed in 1991 in an effort to promote excellence in our educational programs and our school districts. In the thirteen years of existence we have worked on initiatives such as: teacher evaluation, curriculum mapping, project based learning and Understanding by Design. Together we have developed curriculum, standards and benchmarks in all of the content areas
The mission of the Madison School District is to utilize the highest standards of personal achievement and academic excellence to provide the students with an education which prepares them to participate as productive citizens and to be lifelong learners capable of meeting future challenges. We will provide an environment that encourages respectful, responsible, and safe behavior through the consistent use of positive behavior expectations and supports.
Moultonborough Academy, located in the Lakes Region of Central NH, is a rural Class S school that serves the community of Moultonborough exclusively. Situated on 18 secluded acres, it houses a grades 9 - 12 high school and grades 7-8 middle school with a total student population of approximatley 350. MA enjoys a reputation for academic success in an individualized and challenging environment. The Academy offers a diverse variety of athletics and clubs with excellent facilities including soccer, baseball and softball fields as well as a track and community auditorium. The administrators and staff are actively engaged in all aspects of the school community. It maintains a commitment to student centered, community based education with a strong focus on the Community Charter, supporting the ethical ideals of respect, responsibility, integrity, compassion and moral courage. The warmth and friendliness of the school climate is remarkable. The commitment to each child is a core tenet of the school’s philosophy and underpins both daily interactions with children and a wide array of programs. There is a low student/teacher ratio, a first-class media center, an up to date computer lab, an outdoor classroom located on the school grounds and various special academic, social and physical offerings during the school day as well as after school activities. The PTA strongly supports the arts and reading incentive programs, as well as provides many volunteer hours and targeted fund raising.
