WILLOW GROVE SD 46
Willow Grove School is a small k-8 elementary district adjoining the City of Centralia. The Willow Grove District is located partly in the City of Centralia and is also comprised of rural areas west of the city. Willow Grove has a tradition rich history beginning with its establishment on June 30, 1866 as the nation welcomed home its sons and soldiers of the Civil War in Brookside Township, Clinton County, Illinois. Willow Grove School began simply as a one room school. From its inception its families made a living in the coal mines, railroads, farming, and small store merchandising. Traditionally, the families of Willow Grove come from the working class.
