EHOVE CAREER CENTER

EHOVE Career Center is a leading career tech school in Milan Township. This high school and adult education facility draws students from a variety of locales, and serves multiple school districts as well in Erie, Huron and Ottawa Counties. Students are given the opportunity to take challenging academic classes in a customized and relevant curriculum to prepare them for a specific career or college, and learn skills to advance in the trade of their choice, for now or the future. EHOVE Career Center is part of the High Schools That Work school improvement initiative and has been honored with many state and national awards in recent years. In order to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century, EHOVE Career Center is committed to excellence in career and academic preparations.
HURON CITY SCHOOLS

The mission of the Huron City Schools, a system committed to academic excellence, is to guarantee that all students will reach their maximum potential, to be life-long learners who succeed in a global society by ensuring dedicated staff, an enriched environment, and a comprehensive and innovative curriculum in partnership with our community. KELLEYS ISLAND LOCAL

During the early 1830's there were as many as five schools on the island at one time. Lucretia Wood was the first teacher. Even though she had no school building to teach from, she already had ten pupils in the year 1836. The first school was built in 1837, and Miss M.M. Dean was the teacher. In 1901, a new school building was built on Division Street near the center of the island. Mr. James Estes, a generous citizen, donated $15,000 to the beginning of the construction. The building was completed in 1903. The addition of a library, multi-purpose room, kitchen, storage room, and three new classrooms were added in 2000. The addition was long awaited and well appreciated.

NORTH POINT EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER

Our agency is a regional educational services provider that supports and assists twenty-seven (27) school systems and over thirty-eight thousand (38,000) students in north central Ohio. Our services include special education programs, pupil auxiliary support, school improvement assistance, early childhood programs, gifted education programs, professional development activities, alternative education options, parent education programs, administrative consultation, graphic arts and media services, curriculum development, school data analysis, student attendance monitoring, etc.

The mission statement of the Vermilion Local School District is “Inspiring Leaders and Lifelong Learners”. The Vermilion Local School District is working toward alignment with national Common Core State Standards in Mathematics, English Language Arts, and Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects as well as the Ohio Revised Standards in all other curricular areas. Twenty-First Century learning requires deep understanding and effective use of content for real-world purpose, problem solving, frequent research and writing, as well as effective communication for authentic audiences. Students deserve to deeply understand content and to understand why and how information, technology, and inspiration are used to understand and thrive in the global world. To that end, the Vermilion teaching staff purposefully designs units of instruction. Well before instruction begins, the desired results for teaching and learning are purposefully designed, assessments are aligned, and it is clearly understood how students may demonstrate evidence of learning.
