Located in southwestern Fairfield County the Amanda-Clearcreek Local School District covers 99 square miles. The last consolidation occurred in 1960. The present district contains the entire township of Clearcreek with portions of Amanda, Hocking, and Madison Townships. The district has approximately 1600 students in grades K-12. The Amanda-Clearcreek School District opened a new grade 3 -12, 235,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility in September 2003. A new 58,000 square foot K-2 building opened at the end of August 2005. Community support for the many diverse activities (athletic & academic) is widespread and the school sites are also used for many community activities such as club meetings, basketball leagues, and alumni functions. The school has a teacher of gifted and talented students. A private endowment provides funding for an enrichment coordinator to enhance math and science instruction. This endowment also funds a land lab for teacher and student use. A "Host Agreement", governed by an administrative board affiliated with one of the local businesses, helps generate an additional $10,000 to $20,000 per year for staff to purchase instructional supplies and equipment for students in the classroom. Amanda-Clearcreek presently uses its 1,000 computers to integrate educational multi-media program support for our curriculum, to provide students with greater access
to educational resources outside the classroom, and to improve the communication between the school, the community, and the world. The new buildings enhance this process through improved equipment, facilities, and greater access, which could provide
our district with one computer for every 1.6 students. Amanda-Clearcreek also has a very active alumni association.
