The Ashwood School District is comprised of a classic one-room schoolhouse located 30 miles northeast of Madras, OR. Our district serves students in grades K-6.

Located in the heart of the Metolius River basin in Central Oregon, The Historic Black Butte School provides educational opportunities for students in grades Kindergarten through eight. The present day two room schoolhouse, dedicated in September 1950 is the educational home for 15-20 students, and a talented group of teachers and support persons. The school emphasizes individual growth and accountability set in an environment which can best be described as a "family". The school is part of the Black Butte School District 41, an Oregon public school district. As such, it offers a limited number of spots for students from other school districts through the inter-district transfer process. As a public school, students are not charged tuition.

The unified 37 acre campus contains the Elementary, Middle and High Schools plus two gyms, the support services building, and a bus facility, as well as a football, baseball, softball, and soccer field. Culver School District provides a quality learning environment with modern school buildings and updated technology. Culver Schools support classroom computers and school labs and Culver's athletic teams are competitive with music, drama, and the arts growing. Additionally, Culver has an active community that supports the district's endeavors.

The mission of Jefferson County School District 509-J is to nurture the intellectual, social, and physical growth of children as they develop into self-reliant, cooperative and productive adults who are able to confidently meet the challenges of an interdependent global community.

The mission of the Jefferson County Education Service District is to provide support services to constituent school districts in order to improve their abilities to meet the educational need of students. The District will focus on those services which can be most efficiently provided on a regional, cooperative basis rather than through the efforts of individual school districts.
