It is the mission of Coleman Public Schools to provide lifelong skills in the development of critical thinking, reasoning, reading, writing, speaking, computing, technological skills, problem solving, and human social skills. Realizing that each student has different interests and abilities, the school commits itself to encouraging each student to develop these capabilities to help him or her become an independent, productive member of our American society.
The Milburn Board of Education, the administrators, the teachers, and the staff believe that all students can and will learn while attending Milburn Public Schools. Milburn Public Schools will provide students with the learning opportunities and education needed to process information and develop the necessary skills in order to become responsible, knowledgeable, and productive citizens. This will be accomplished by the offering of a challenging curriculum provided in a safe, orderly climate by highly qualified educators with the cooperation and direct involvement of the parents and the community.
The Mill Creek Public School District is currently educating 163 students, grades Pre-K through 12th. We have a long history in education beginning with a three-room shack built in 1900 that was for children through 8th grade. A new two-story facility was built in 1904 and the first time high school was offered for Mill Creek students was 1912, with the first graduation class being 1916. The school is our community. There has always been a great deal of pride in being a bullfrog! We provide a quality education to all students and work hard to offer activities and challenges often not found in small schools. We believe that a small teacher to student ratio offers the best opportunity for student growth and learning; therefore, our staff goes above and beyond to make sure that every student learns to his or her full potential.
