Adrian is a small community located in Eastern Oregon bordering the Snake River, and home to one of Oregon's best school districts. Adrian staff, students, and community believes that together, we can grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically to become lifelong learners and productive citizens. Annex School District is located in Malheur County, Oregon north of Ontario and serves students K - 8th Grade. Annex Charter School has an active student council, talented and gifted program, checkers and chess tournaments, dances, awards assemblies, a small school atmosphere and a low student to teacher ratio, making it an excellent learning environment where student learning can thrive. Our mission is: "To provide quality instruction, to create well-mannered and well-educated citizens.
The purpose of the School District is to provide within the economic framework of the community, an educational environment, learning experiences and intellectual stimulation which enable each student to develop mentally, physically, and socially to the fullest extent of his/her own capabilities and to society’s greatest good.
Malheur ESD assists local school districts to assure continuous improvement of curriculum development, instructional delivery and student assessment. These services include the training of teachers to design and implement instructional programs and the development of assessment programs to measure student achievement. Malheur ESD facilitates effective use of computers and communication media and stabilizes resource management helping districts respond to fiscal needs.
The district shall maintain a coordinated K-12 program designed to improve student achievement. The following practices contribute to achieving this goal. The district will develop a partnership with staff, parents and community members through 21 st Century Schools Councils, local school committees and advisory committees to identify and revise goals consistent with the goals adopted by the State Board of Education. To successfully prepare students to function effectively in a rapidly changing world and for the futures they choose to pursue, goals adopted by the district will: 1. Ensure that all students, regardless of linguistic background, culture, race, sex, capability or
geographic location, have access to a quality education in a safe, motivating environment; 2. Hold all students to rigorous academic standards and expect them to succeed; 3. Provide students with opportunities to demonstrate their achievement in knowledge and skills; 4. Encourage parental and community involvement in their student’s education; 5. Develop in students lifelong academic skills to prepare them for an ever changing world; 6. Develop in students the core ethical values that our diverse society shares and holds important, including but not limited to: respect, responsibility, caring, trustworthiness, justice, fairness, civic virtue and citizenship; and 7. Equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue the future of their choice and to prepare students to function effectively in various life roles.
Vale Schools are an integral part of the lives of our people. We consistently have the highest test scores in Eastern Oregon and the athletic teams have a long history of success. The football team has won more state championships than any school in Oregon (10) and the automotive troubleshooting team is the perennial state champion with several national championship trophies. We are blessed with teachers who love teaching and students who enjoy learning. In short, Vale is a great place to live and learn!
