Byars is a small rural community located just south of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We are proud to be an integral part of the local community and to have a positive influence on our children. Honored by the trust and faith that has been placed in us, we encourage a sense of community within our students and strive to prepare them for a brighter future. This two-story red brick building was built in 1919. This building originally served as the high school building. Before it was condemned, it was used as a middle school for several years. It was finally demolished in May 1984. Today, Washington Public Schools offers grades Pre-Kindergarten to 12th grade. We have one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school with a total of 956 students. Our elementary serves Pre-K to 5thgrade with a total of 489 students. Our middle school covers 6th through 8thgrades with 196 students. The high school has grades 9th through 12thwith 271 students. We have 63 certified personnel and 37 support personnel on staff.

Wayne Public Schools is a small rural district dedicated to providing individualized instruction to all students. Every Wayne Bulldog Student is expected to be successful in all areas of the educational arena. Wayne Schools will provide the “THE BEST EDUCATION POSSIBLE” while promoting high morals and character. The Wayne Board of Education, Administration, Faculty and Staff believe Wayne Graduates should have every advantage as they seek their place in life. Every student is considered a precious asset.
