As a school district we are proud that the curriculum we offer students is based on the best practices that exist in the educational community. We continue to have more students meet or exceed standards than the state average on the Illinois Standards Achievement Tests. We have a quality special education program, gifted education program, bilingual education program, and Reading Recovery program just to name a few. The district has worked to provide these and other quality programs while at the same time has a commitment to fiscal responsibility.

The Mission Statement of Fox River Grove School District 3 is:
"Educational Excellence is the Pathway to a Successful Future." We promote a safe and nurturing environment that fosters life-long learning. Our goal is to develop the educational opportunities of all students, based on their individual needs, by improving the communication, social interaction, and critical thinking skills of the school community. Our purpose is to enable students to adapt to future needs so that they may function productively in a global society. Our schools maintain the expectation that students, teachers, parents, and community members will strive together to realize our mission.
-
"Empower all students to learn and lead in the 21st century."
We pride ourselves on our commitment to serving the needs of the "whole child" -- academic, social and emotional needs.
The strong academic performance of our students, supported by staff, parents, and the community at large, allows us to enhance our challenging curriculum with lessons in developing civil behavior and emotional intelligence skills to prepare our students for their future.

McHenry County Cooperative for Employment Education (MCCEE) is one of 60 Education for Employment (EFE) Systems established by the Illinois State Board of Education. We administer and coordinate secondary Career and Technical Education (CTE). Illinois School districts must belong to an EFE System to access CTE funding. The major responsibility of an EFE System is to provide both staff and curriculum development for member schools.
Our Joint Agreement includes 13 High Schools and McHenry County College. Each school offers State of Illinois approved career related program sequences.
-
The McHenry County Regional Office of Education acts as an advocate for education by providing positive leadership, performing regulatory functions directed by the Illinois School Code and the Illinois State Board of Education, coordinating and delivering state and local services, and disseminating information for educators, school districts, and the community.
