Anderson Valley Unified School District’s population is approximately 635 students K-12. As of August 2010, there are roughly 275 students K-6 and 250 in grades 7-12. There are also 10-20 continuation students at Rancheria High School as well as some on Independent Study. The student population district-wide is approximately 65% Hispanic – bicultural and bi-literate.
Point Arena Schools is one of ten “Common Administration Districts” in the State of California. We are comprised of Point Arena Joint Union High School District and the Arena Union Elementary School District. We are located on the rural coast of Northern California approximately three hours north of San Francisco. We serve 540 pre-school through high school students from Stewarts Point in Sonoma County to Elk in Mendocino County. Our schools include: a comprehensive high school and an independent charter high School, (co-located on the same campus), a continuation high school, an elementary school and an independent elementary charter school. We enjoy a diverse student population (39% Latino, 12% Native American, 45% White, and 4% other), a very talented and dedicated staff and an energetic, supportive community.
Laytonville Unified School District facilitates a culture of high academic standards and an atmosphere of caring and respect between adults and students. The district prides itself in holding high standards for its students to prepare them for postsecondary success. The school staff has an intimate knowledge of students and their families allowing for a collaborative effort in increasing student achievement. The teaching staff is fully credentialed and are highly educated experts in their fields who share their passion for their subject by creating standards based curriculum that often involves the community.

The Mendocino County Office of Education is a public agency whose primary purpose is to provide educational leadership, resources and services to schools to ensure wide-ranging educational opportunities for all students. This mission is accomplished through cooperative efforts with teachers, school districts, families, and communities; through direct instructional programs and administrative services; and through coordination with the California Department of Education and other agencies.
The Mendocino County CTE, in partnership with private industries and local agencies, will provide students the highest quality programs. These programs will provide successful transition from school to career and continuing education which will develop effective, productive citizens.

The Potter Valley Community Unified School District is comprised of this elementary school, a state preschool, a middle school, a high school, a community day school, and a continuation high school. The valley's population is small (approximately 3,000) but the community has supported its own schools for almost 100 years. As the recreational and cultural center of the valley, the school brings the community together.

The Ukiah Unified School District will provide an educational experience that instills and enhances self-esteem, assures success on the basis of individual interests and abilities, and fosters constructive relations among students, teachers and parents. Students will benefit from their educational experiences by acquiring knowledge and skills that provide them with choices about continuing formal education or entering the work environment. Students will be prepared to contribute to their communities, be responsible to themselves and others, and deal appropriately with issues impacting the society in which they live.

This mission was developed in collaboration with staff, students and community. WUSD is in the process of defining its vision and creating a 3 – 5 year strategic plan.
