DAYTON CITY
Dayton Public Schools is an urban district of approximately 15,000 students in pre-kindergarten through high school with a graduation rate of (84.4%) and more National Board Certified teachers than any other district in the Dayton region. One of our high schools, Stivers School for the Arts, was ranked among America’s best public high schools for two years in a row by U.S. News & World Report. DPS has produced 20 Gates millennium scholars since 2000, and four National Coca-Cola Finalists since 2003--two of whom were national winners. The diversity of our student body is matched only by the variety of our academic offerings. Students benefit from a solid academic program in our 30 schools and two special centers. Because students learn in different ways, DPS families will find single-gender and Montessori schools at the PK-8 level and programs that challenge students at the high school level. These include cutting-edge career pathways at David H. Ponitz Career Technology Center, International Baccalaureate at Meadowdale, and visual and performing arts at Stivers School for the Arts. DPS is partnering with the Dayton Foundation, the University of Dayton’s Raymond L. Fitz Center for Leadership in Community, and a host of local businesses and health and social service organizations to operate five Dayton Public preK-8 schools as community centers in the after-school hours. The centers are part of the district’s initiative to create strong neighborhood schools. The district, in the final segment of its $627 million school construction program, is providing teachers and students with new facilities and state-of-the-art technology to prepare for success in a global economy. To date, 24 of 26 schools have been built and occupied. This school year, DPS opened River's Edge Montessoi School and Fairview PreK-8 School and will later open the new Belmont High School and Wright Brothers PreK-8 School.

DAYTON EARLY COLLEGE ACADEMY INC
The Dayton Early College Academy was established in 2003 under the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's Early College High School Initiative, with support from the Cincinnati-based KnowledgeWorks Foundation. DECA was opened as a Dayton Public School, the result of a partnership between the University of Dayton and the public school district. It was reorganized as a charter school in July 2007. DECA is located on the campus of the University of Dayton. DECA was the first early college high school in the state of Ohio, tenth in the nation, and one of the five most innovative high schools according to the Northwest Evaluation Association. With 425 students, the school today represents a unique partnership of the DECA Board, the Dayton Public Schools (as sponsor), the University of Dayton (as operator) and Sinclair Community College. DECA serves junior and senior high school students who are underrepresented in higher education, unprepared academically to meet college readiness standards, and unable to pay for college. The Dayton Early College Academy is singularly focused on preparing urban learners from the Dayton Public School District to go to college and be the first in their families to graduate. DECA is an early college high school that offers Dayton Public School students a one-of-a-kind opportunity to excel academically and succeed in their goal of graduating from college. We offer a high-performing alternative to Dayton’s urban learners who want a bright future and are willing to work hard to achieve it. What distinguishes DECA from most urban high schools is the “we go to college” mindset of our students.

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP LOCAL
Every stakeholder in our district must be committed to excellence and serious about meeting the needs of all students. Focusing on teaching and learning affords a tremendous opportunity to greater school attainment, dramatically and swiftly reducing the achievement gap, and enhancing the "life chances" of all children, regardless of their social or economic circumstances. With true quality instruction, we can create a Jefferson Township Local School district that is better than anything that we have ever seen or imagined. For the sake of every 21st century learner in the Jefferson Township Local School District, five major reforms are taking place in our schools: We are raising expectations for all students by setting clear and high goals for what all students should know and be able to do; We are creating a learning environment that is clean, safe, and conducive for teaching and learning; We are creating a climate where bell-to-bell, standards based instruction is practiced everyday; We are building greater capacity in our schools by providing leadership and resources to sustain support for academic improvement; We are improving our results by measuring progress and holding educators and students responsible for higher academic achievement. The entire Jefferson Township Educational community is working hard to make a positive difference in the lives of our students.

KLEPINGER COMMUNITY SCHOOL
At Imagine Schools, we believe that operating a successful school requires constant attention in five important areas that we call Measures of Excellence: Parent choice and satisfaction; Adhering to shared values; Academic achievement; Positive character development; Economic sustainability. We work hard to balance accomplishments in all of these areas, because a school that emphasizes one while ignoring another will not thrive. In addition, we add a sixth Measure of Excellence, new school development, because starting and operating new schools enables us to fulfill our mission to help more parents and guardians educate their children.
