Vision Statement I: New Kent County Public Schools (NKCPS) will provide a research-based instructional program that creates life-long learners prepared to contribute to a diverse and changing world. Vision Statement II: NKCPS will continue to attract and retain quality staff that is well trained to meet the needs of our students and community. Vision Statement III: All NKCPS facilities and grounds will be well maintained and provide appropriate space and resources to meet the needs of students, staff, and community. Vision Statement IV: NKCPS will continue to provide learning environments that foster a safe and positive atmosphere for students and staff. Vision Statement V: NKCPS will actively pursue open communication and collaboration with New Kent County residents and community resources. Vision Statement VI: As an integral part of the education system, NKCPS will provide safe and efficient transportation for students. Vision Statement VII: NKCPS will utilize technology to enhance the instructional opportunities for students, support instructional strategies for teachers, and supplement technology availability for the community. The school division has over 430 employees. There are 220 licensed teachers, seven guidance counselors, four media specialists, four principals, five assistant principals, and a central office staff composed of 1 Superintendent and 5 Directors.
