We, in the Oktibbeha County School District, want the best educational opportunities for our students and we will continue to strive daily to accomplish this. It is our goal that every student in this school district be afforded a first-class education that will equip him or her in becoming our leaders for tomorrow.
As we continue to build on the progress that the district has sustained, let us make this school year one we are proud of for years to come. We are committed to excellence and student achievement will drive every effort of our school district.
The Shared-Decision Making Committee (SDMC) is created as a means of transforming schools into communities where the major stakeholders participate constructively in major decisions that affect them. The SDMC takes on the task of reviewing the District's educational goals, objectives, and major District-wide classroom instructional programs. The committee is designed to involve professional and non-professional staff, parents, and community members in establishing academic and other performance objectives of the school for each goal adopted by the Starkville School District. In addition, the SDMC will be responsible for monitoring and approving Title I School Wide Plans. The committee will meet once a month.
