AREA SPECIAL EDUCATION COOPERATIVE
ASEC is a cooperative of 14 school districts in northwestern Minnesota. The Cooperative was formed in 1969 by agreement of local schools to provide a full range of specialized services to children on a district level. This cooperative is administered by a Board of Directors composed of the superintendents of the 14 school districts and the director and assistant directors of special education. The primary goal of the cooperative is to provide support services to teachers, administrators, parents and students with disabilities. A wide variety of support services are available to districts such as technical assistance, assessment for special education services, consultation, counseling, crisis intervention, low incidence services, early childhood special education programming and personnel development opportunities.

EAST GRAND FORKS PUBLIC SCHOOL DIST
The district is organized into four schools: New Heights, which is a kindergarten through second grade school: South Point, which is a third grade through fifth grade school; Central Middle School which houses the sixth through eighth grades, and the Senior High School for grades nine thorough twelve. At the elementary level, the East Grand Forks School District has made every effort to maintain effective class sizes for optional learning. Kindergarten students participate in a full day, every day program. All students participate in physical education music, and computer literacy programs taught by licensed specialists. Central Middle School emphasizes the development of the whole child and includes a wide variety of exploratory experiences to develop mature interest, academic capabilities and athletic skills. The middle school curriculum features the highly recognized Red River of the North program for the past, present and future. The Senior High School offers a comprehensive curriculum, which includes instruction in two foreign languages, a host of vocational classes, and several courses offered for high school and full college credit, in addition to what is regarded as a traditional secondary curriculum. The school district offers a wide variety of extra-curricular options including drama, speech, music, athletics, and many other individual and group activities. We are constantly striving to improve the quality of our service, by responding to your needs and anticipating future objectives. District patrons should feel free to visit anytime, or call your child's school if you have questions ideas, or concerns.
