Earlsboro Public Schools is located in eastern Pottawatomie County. We have approximately 250 students in Pre-Kindergarten through the 12th grade. Earlsboro Schools have been educating and mentoring young minds since 1914. Earlsboro is home of the world famous "Willie Stargell" inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988. High School students have the opportunity to attend Gordon Cooper Technology Center or Seminole State College to enhance their educational experience. The home of the Wildcats provides all students an opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities in order to prepare for a life of success. The mission of Earlsboro Schools is to create and maintain a positive and welcoming school climate,free of drugs, violence, intimidation and fear. Gordon Cooper Technology Center is a public career and technology education center located in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the intersection of Interstate 40 and State Highway 18. Itis part of the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education system. The school is named for Gordon Cooper, an American aeronautical engineer, test pilot, and one of the seven original Mercury astronauts, the first manned space program of the United States. Cooper piloted the longest and final Mercury spaceflight in 1963. He was the first American to sleep in space during that 34-hour mission and was the last American to be launched alone into space. In 1965, Cooper flew as command pilot of Gemini 5. The school was founded in 1968 and serves around 1,000 full-time students and has over 15,000 short-term enrollments annually.

Shawnee Schools is a district of 4,000 students in grades PK-12 and eight school sites. Shawnee has a rich community culture reflected in the diversity of the student population composed of Native Americans, African Americans, Hispanics and Caucasians. The board of education and school district is committed to providing all students outstanding academic and extracurricular programs. Shawnee Schools, established in 1895, have been educating children well before Oklahoma’s statehood with the first schools. Shawnee Schools embarked upon a new era of community and district progress with the renovation of elementary sites, construction of the Middle School in 2001, the Early Childhood Center in 2007 and most recently the Performing Arts and Athletic Center in 2008. Located on the high school campus, the new performing arts and athletic facility, hosted numerous athletic events, fine art performances and Project Graduation. Last year was a tremendously successful year with many district and student successes and accomplishments. Multiple student groups and teams were recognized locally and on the state level for their championship performances. As educators push themselves to higher levels of expertise, the teaching staff continues to grow in knowledge and skills. Summer of 2009 had 552 staff participate in over 39 district workshops. Twenty-four district teachers have attained National Board Certification and all staff constantly strive to improve the learning environment for all students. From bus drivers to maintenance, all staff play a critical role in making school a successful day to day operation.
