The Chama Valley Indep. Schools School District is located in Tierra Amarilla, NM and includes 5 schools that serve 410 students in grades KG through 12.

School District No. 21 consists of an elementary school, a middle school and a high school, together educating close to 650 children from the local community. The elementary school houses kindergarten through 5th grade; the middle school 6th through 8th, and the high school, 9th through 12th. Each day nearly 300 students arrive at the elementary school. At the middle school 165 pass through the doors, and over 200 attend the high school.

The Mission of the Española Public School District #55 is to provide and continuously improve a quality education for all students in a safe environment by implementing an educational program that insures students are prepared to meet educational and lifelong challenges.

All students will possess problem solving skills, analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and synthesizing skills. They will be accepting of various customs and cultural differences, be able to work as part of a team, and work well with others. They will be able to write effectively, communicate and listen well. Students will have the technology skills to effectively achieve their goals at work, home or during leisure. Students will be life long learners, living healthy and violence free lifestyles.
