Rockcastle County Schools believe student achievement is reached through support for students, families and our community. Our first priority is meeting the mental, physical, and social needs of each student.
Constant evaluation helps determine what students need and how to meet those needs. We continually search for strategies to individualize instruction to find different approaches for different needs, so each student has the opportunity to learn. This is why our students’ performance on the Kentucky Core Content Test are consistently above state levels, performing in the top 10% of all districts in the state.
Learning doesn’t stop there. Teachers are learners too, and Rockcastle County Schools offer multiple opportunities for teacher development. Teachers participate in training sessions in reading and writing, math, science, economics, arts integration, and behavior, which help students, solve problems and enjoy learning. Communication between teachers, students, and parents is vital to student success at Rockcastle County Schools.
