The Arickaree School district is named after the Arickaree River which runs through Southern Washington County. The school mascot is the Arikra Indian, after the tribe that once lived in the area. School colors are green, white, and gold. The school district was formed from several small districts in the Consolidation Act of 1960.

Woodlin School District R-104 is a single-campus district, housing grades Pre-K to 12, located on the Eastern Plains of Colorado in western Washington County. The total enrollment in 2009-2010 is 105. Three small communities surround Woodlin: Lindon, Woodrow, and Last Chance. All of these communities combined have a population of less than 250. The people of the Woodlin area shop in the larger towns about forty miles away.
