Adams Wells Special Services Cooperative is a cooperative formed by the six school districts in Adams and Wells counties to provide services to students with disabilities. The cooperative, in response to the Individuals with Disabilities act (IDEA) and Indiana’s Article 7 offers comprehensive program for students aged three through twenty-two. Most of the programs are provided to the students in their neighborhood school. The Adams Wells Special Services Cooperative's Central Office is located in Bluffton, Indiana. Wells and Adams counties are located adjacent to each other in Northeast Indiana. We are 30 minutes south of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Bluffton Harrison Metropolitan School district was organized in 1882. The school district is comprised of Harrison Township that includes a majority of the city of Bluffton, a portion of the town of Poneto, and the town of Vera Cruz. The school system includes one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school.
The mission of Northern Wells Community Schools, in partnership with the community, is to provide quality educational programs in a safe, learning-rich and supportive environment. All students are expected to become responsible, self-disciplined, life-long learners educated to be successful and contributing members of an ever-changing society.
