About School District: The mission of the Big Walnut Local Schools is to inspire and guide each student to his or her maximum potential. Located approximately 25 minutes northeast of downtown Columbus, Ohio, Big Walnut Local Schools provides instructional services for children who live in the greater Galena and Sunbury communities, including parts of Porter, Kingston, Trenton, Harlem, Genoa and Berkshire townships. Big Walnut is located in Delaware County – the fastest growing county in Ohio. With three elementary schools, a middle school, high school, and a partnership with the Delaware Area Career Center, the district serves over 3,000 students and employs more than 300 staff.
