About School District: The district’s approximately 700 students are served by approximately 55 certificated teachers, 50 classified staff members, a K-8 principal and a half- time High School Principal/ half-time Superintendent. The Orcas Island Elementary School (K-6), the Orcas Island Middle School (7-8) and the Orcas Island High School (9-12) and the OASIS alternative programs for K-8 and high school students are all located on one 45-acre campus in the village of Eastsound on Orcas Island. The mission of the Orcas Island School District is to work in partnership with the families and community to create a respectful, nurturing, and challenging environment offering a relevant education founded on academic excellence and artistic expression. Our students are self-directed, compassionate, and responsible world citizens, alive with the love of learning.
