Baldwin school is a two room schoolhouse which has grades K-8. It is located 13 miles North and two miles East of Bismarck - the state capital. The school began instruction in 1929

The first graduating class was in 1887, when two people graduated. In 2010, 840 students graduated. The oldest building is part of BHS, built in 1934, and the newest buildings are Sunrise Elementary School and the Career Academy, which opened in August 2010.We are the largest school districts in the state, with 11,008 students in 2010-11 and 1,751 staff members. We have over 500 classrooms in 16 grade schools, three middle schools,two senior high schools, an alternative high school, a career and technical center, and an early childhood program.

The CTE Center, has been part of the Bismarck Public School district for over 25 years. Bismarck CTE Center is located on the campus of Bismarck State College, and shares space with BSC in the Career Academy and Technical Center Building. Bismarck CTE Center has an enrollment of nearly 800 students from nine (9) public and private high schools yearly. The CTE Center provides students with quality education in career and technical programs including high wage, high demand technical training, academic integration and alignment with post-secondary education. Instructors at the CTE Center have industry-based experience in the program areas they teach. Each program has a local industry advisory committee that provides feedback on equipment and curriculum requirements, so students receive real world, "hands-on" learning opportunities.
