PENNSYLVANIA LEADERSHIP CHARTER SCHOOL
The Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School (PALCS) is a public cyber charter school. This means that all Pennsylvanian children in kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible to enroll in PALCS, tuition-free, and attend school on the Internet. The PA Leadership Charter School’s purpose is to provide an academically challenging, knowledge-based curriculum, individually designed for each child’s needs. PALCS will combine the benefits of a classical basics oriented education with the latest Internet / computer technology and the best teaching and learning education practices. By studying the lives and works of the great leaders in history, PALCS students will develop multi-cultural perspectives and a global awareness. PALCS will prepare students to be informed, responsible citizens with a global mentality who will succeed through mentoring leadership. PALCS’s vision is to provide parents with an option for public education that tailors an educational experience to the unique needs of their child and allows them to receive that experience via the World Wide Web. The PALCS’s curriculum incorporates differentiated teaching within a strong academic environment. PALCS’s teachers are encouraged to develop their own curriculum, additional resources and alternative learning styles to ensure that each student experiences the pedagogy that is most effective for him/her. PALCS’s policy requires that the parent or other Home Facilitator meet with the student’s teacher leader at the beginning of the student’s educational experience and once a year to review the Individualized Program of Instruction (IPI) developed by the teacher(s), parent and/or Home Facilitator for the student. Each student will receive instruction in music, art, foreign languages and technology as well as basic core requirements to ensure a well-rounded education.

RENAISSANCE ACADEMY CS
Renaissance Academy Charter School is a tuition-free, award-winning, public charter school. Renaissance Academy was incorporated in the fall of 1999 as a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation with the purpose of establishing and operating a non-profit, non-sectarian charter school in the Phoenixville School District in Phoenixville, PA. In 1999, a group of concerned, energized, local parents came together to draft a Charter Application, which was authorized by the Phoenixville School Board. The goals of the new charter school were to improve and to increase learning opportunities for all pupils; to encourage the use of different and innovative teaching methods; to provide parents and students with expanded choices in the types of educational opportunities available; and to hold schools accountable for meeting measurable academic standards. The mission of the Renaissance Academy is to prepare a diverse cross-section of children for success as students, workers, and citizens by providing them with a high-quality liberal arts, college preparatory education through creation of a school in which high standards, creativity, technological sophistication, high motivation, and accountability are the norm. The school aims to achieve lasting gains in students' academic performance while serving the diverse needs of all students.

Royer-Greaves School for Blind is dedicated to the education of vision impaired and multi-handicapped children and adults. The mission of Royer-Greaves School for Blind is to provide a supportive home, education and training environment for children and adults who are visually impaired and may be profoundly developmentally disabled. In this environment residents can learn to function to their fullest potential and enjoy a quality of life not otherwise available to them. All individuals are educated in a manner appropriate to their learning capabilities and life needs. TIMOTHY SCHOOL
The Timothy School was established in 1966 as a non-profit school for children with autism. We are the oldest, non-profit school in Pennsylvania devoted exclusively to the educational needs of children with this disability. From a church school with nine children, six teachers, and many volunteers, the school has grown into a model program emphasizing Structured Teaching, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Positive Behavioral Supports as core components of the instructional program. Each day, sixty-four children, ages five to twenty-one, come to our school from twenty-seven school districts located in five counties within the southeastern region of Pennsylvania. Each year, we conduct orientation programs for resident physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and other professional to further their understanding of the autism diagnosis and what this means for children and their families. We provide community service opportunities for students from local elementary and secondary schools who volunteer to work with our students. We also provide pre-service opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students from six colleges and universities. Visitors have come to see our school from as far as Denbighshire, UK, Modbury, Australia, and Tanzania, Africa. THE TIMOTHY SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT: • To provide students, five through twenty-one years of age diagnosed with autism and pervasive developmental disorders, with the communication, social, cognitive, and life skills necessary to enable them to function effectively and as independently as possible in the least restrictive environment. • To provide parents with training and support so that they can serve as partners within the school community and work effectively with their children at home. • To disseminate research and educate the community about the abilities and needs of people with autism/PDD. • To provide practical field experiences for university, college, and medical students pursuing studies in special education or developmental disabilities.
