Childress County School Districts
-
Childress, Texas is a beautiful town of about six thousand people in the southeast corner of the Texas Panhandle. We have three main campuses with approximately 1100 students total. The district serves students from Pre-Kindergarten through twelfth grade with programs including Special Education, Gifted and Talented, Vocational, and college dual credit. Our district is also proud to be one of the most technologically advanced school districts in the state. Every student in grades 6-12 has issued to them an Apple laptop computer, giving them many new educational tools including filtered internet access, and allowing them to tap into infinite resources around the world. Elementary students have access to COWS (computers on wheels) in the classroom. All district classrooms have interactive whiteboards that allow students to be engaged at every level. Our mission statement charges the schools to prepare students to reach their full potential in a dynamic world, and we believe that advanced technology is vital to that mission. Childress schools also offer a wide range of extracurricular activities to develop well- rounded young people. From our storied athletic programs to music, FFA, automotive programs, and literary competition, some type of activity is available for every student.
