The philosophy of Florence School District entails the idea that education must be considered as a process of growth in which the individual is motivated and is stimulated by the controlled environment of home, church, school, state, and nation as well as the uncontrolled environment of the total community. Our philosophy is aimed at developing the individual’s capacities through a democratic procedure with regard for individual differences and responsibilities. We believe we should teach the students how to think but not what to think. It is our belief that through educational opportunities, adjusted to individual differences, our children may become free to grow intellectually and morally, understanding the natural force of life and learning to live in harmony with others. The mission of Florence School District is to provide each student with educational opportunities that enable them to learn and find success in school to the full extent of their ability.
Henry School District Philosophy: The Board of Education, the Faculty and the Administration of the Henry School District support the philosophy that each child is entitled the opportunity to maximize their potential. Their potential would include mental and physical development, mental health, emotional maturity, social adjustment and moral character.
Watertown has a rich history of high academic achievement, strong extra-curricular programs, and incredible community support for education. We believe our students' work effort is evident each time they enter the classrooms or the competitive arena. This work effort pays off in the district's accomplishments. We are known throughout the state as the "Watertown Arrows", and our school colors are purple and gold.
