We specialize in preparing the students for an early transition into a university baccalaureate program in fields related to math, engineering, or science. We offer many of the benefits of a private school education at a tuition-free public high school. Our students are given the choice of attending college through the NUAMES scholarship after a full year of attendance, when they have demonstrated that they have the work ethic and maturity needed for higher-level education. Our mission is to be the school of choice for those seeking a rigorous and supportive early college experience on a university campus.

NORTH DAVIS PREPARATORY ACADEMY
North Davis Preparatory Academy (NDPA) is Utah’s first International Spanish Academy. We received this prestigious honor in recognition of our teaching emphasis of the Spanish language and Spanish cultures of the world. View our Curriculum. NDPA is a charter school located in Layton, Utah. It was built with the idea that children should have an affordable quality education in a safe, nurturing environment. A charter school allows parents a choice in free public education for their child. NDPA offers a public school education with private school quality. Our school emphasizes uniforms, discipline, 25-child class sizes, and employee accountability — with the power to hire and fire as necessary. Parents are expected to volunteer and be active in the school, which has shown to be a major benefit to a child's interest in school and willingness to learn. An emphasis is placed on mastery of reading and math skills, with expectations for students held high. NDPA teaches Spanish to all grades, with the goal for students to become biliterate. All curriculum course offerings are aligned with the Utah State Core Curriculum and UPASS tests. The curriculum addresses the needs of each language group, including: Primary Language Development, Second Language Acquisition, Development of Cognitive Language and Literacy Skills, and Development of Cross-Cultural Understanding.

SPECTRUM ACADEMY
In 2006, a group of parents frustrated with the educational opportunities available for students with autism, took it upon themselves to ensure the academic success of their children. After years of hard work, sacrifice and sheer determination, they opened the doors of the first charter school in Utah dedicated solely to the academic, behavioral and social success of students with Asperger's Syndrome and high-functioning autism. The same vision that motivated these early parents still drives the parents, educators and staff at Spectrum Academy today. What started as an elementary program of 150 students has, in the last four years, expanded to include preschool, elementary and high school programs with a school population of over 300 students. Located in North Salt Lake, Utah, our educators understand the academic, social and behavioral challenges of these unique students. Many among our employees are themselves parents, grandparents and siblings of individuals on the autism spectrum. They come to Spectrum Academy looking for opportunities to inspire, guide and develop the strategies that will help our students reach their fullest potential and enjoy productive and successful futures. Along the way, our commitment to advance the academic opportunities for students with autism has led other individuals with unique learning needs to our school. Our school population now consists of a rich mixture of students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, students throughout the autism spectrum, and those with typical learning abilities. All these students benefit from our small class sizes, individualized instruction and innovative social skills curriculum. Building upon the vision of our founding parents, Spectrum Academy is passionate about the success of its students. As a charter school, we are part of the public school system and are subject to the same laws and regulations that govern traditional public schools. We receive public education funds and do not require tuition. And, like other public schools, we are open to the public, without discrimination.
