Granite School District, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, operates 64 elementary schools, 16 junior high schools, 9 high schools, as well as other special schools and programs. With 67,730 students, Granite is the third largest district in Utah and is among the largest public districts in the nation. Granite is also one of Utah's largest employers, with more than 9,500 full and part-time employees. The district boundary encompasses 257 square miles.

WEBER DISTRICT
WASHINGTON DISTRICT

Washington County School District is a school district headquartered in St. George, Utah, with 26,184 students enrolled as of February 2011. The district serves students in Washington County, Utah. Washington County School District administrative office building, located at 121 West Tabernacle, St. George, Utah was constructed in a style to fit in with the surrounding historic sandstone buildings. The district provides public education for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade in Washington County cities and towns, including St. George, Bloomington, Bloomington Hills, Winchester Hills, Dammeron Valley, Washington, Santa Clara, Ivins, Hurricane, La Verkin, Central, Veyo, Pine Valley, Leeds, Hildale, Springdale, and Toquerville, covering an area of over 2,400 square miles (over 6,200 square kilometers).

DUCHESNE DISTRICT

Duchesne County School District is a small, rural school district located in scenic Eastern Utah. We are able to provide quality educational programs and enjoy good relationships with Utah State University Branch Campus and Uintah Basin Applied Technology College. We also utilize a distance learning network to provide curriculum to our more isolated schools. An ongoing project of the district is to provide modern, safe, and efficient facilities in a pleasant and positive learning environment.

AMERICAN PREPARATORY ACADEMY--LEA

Our Mission: To provide an orderly, safe and nurturing learning environment wherein content-rich, efficient curriculum and research-based instructional methodologies are utilized to ensure that every student achieves academic success and develops good character based on concrete measurements. Our Philosophy: Student academic achievement is the primary goal of American Prep. We believe that only when students master fundamentals, and are fluent in the basic foundational knowledge of the major disciplines can they move on to effectively express their knowledge and master higher-level skills. North Sanpete School District is a small district in central Utah serving the children of several small communities ranging from Ftn. Green and Indianola in the north end of the valley, to Spring City, Chester, and Wales in the central valley. The high school, and district office are located in Mt. Pleasant; the middle school is located in Moroni; elementary schools are located in Fairview, Ftn. Green, Moroni, Mt. Pleasant, and Spring City.

THOMAS EDISON - LEA

The original Thomas Edison Charter School opened its doors in August, 2002, and began operations at its permanent 9,100 square foot North Logan facility on September 3rd, 2002. Since then, the North Logan school has expanded twice and its facility has grown to its present size of 33,500 square feet. In September 2005, Thomas Edison Charter School – South (TECS-S) opened the doors of its 33,000 square foot facility in Nibley, Utah. In 2007, the TECS-S facility expanded to 46,000 square feet with plans to grow to 50,000 square feet later. The combination of both campuses is authorized to enroll up to a total of 1,350 students, serving grades K-9. The mission of Thomas Edison Charter Schools is to provide all students the fundamental knowledge, tools, and discipline to become successful, reputable citizens in our country and to become high achievers in our ever evolving, demanding, and complex society. DAVINCI ACADEMY

DaVinci Academy was the brainchild of a coalition of business, science, education, and community leaders early in 2003. The concept of creating a high school in downtown Ogden that provided the knowledge and skills students needed in the 21st century was compelling for many. After months of work, DaVinci Academy was chartered by the Utah State Board of Education and opened its doors in August 2004 with the mission of integrating science and the arts after the example of the original Renaissance man, Leonardo da Vinci. Naturally this progressed into a college ready, project-based curriculum that addresses the needs of the whole child. Our Motto: "Uniquely Dedicated to Student Success." Our Vision: The DaVinci Academy is a premier Charter School that superbly prepares students for ever-greater challenges and opportunities. OGDEN PREPARATORY ACADEMY

Ogden Prep, or OPA, is the first charter school based in Ogden, Utah. It was built with the idea that children should have an affordable quality education in a safe, nurturing environment. A charter school allows parents a choice in free public education for their child. Ogden Prep offers a public school education but with private school quality. That includes uniforms, discipline, 25-child class sizes, and employee accountability (with the power to hire and fire as necessary). Parents are expected to volunteer and be active in the school, which has shown to be a major benefit to a child's interest in school and willingness to learn. An emphasis is placed on mastery of reading and math skills, with expectations for students held high. OPA, through a bilingual education, exposes all students in grades K-9 to Spanish as a second language. One of the goals of the school is to produce learners who are biliterate in both these languages. All curriculum course offerings are aligned with the Utah State Core Curriculum and UPASS tests. The curriculum addresses the needs of each language group including: primary language development, second language acquisition, development of cognitive language and literacy skills, and the development of cross-cultural understanding. North Davis Preparatory Academy (NDPA) is Utah’s first International Spanish Academy. GARFIELD DISTRICT

FREEDOM ACADEMY

Freedom Preparatory Academy (FPA) is a chartered public (free) school overseen by the Utah State Office of Education, with 700 students in grades K-8. FPA has been approved to expand to a K-12 school starting in the 2012 school year. In 2010, Freedom Preparatory Academy was named Charter School of the Year, and in 2011, Director Lynne Herring was named Charter School Administrator of the Year. The school is governed by a seven-member governing board; these board members are elected by Freedom Preparatory Academy parents. Freedom Preparatory Academy’s daily operations are run by a director who reports to the board. Parent volunteers work primarily through a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Freedom Preparatory Academy uses the highly acclaimed, academically rigorous Core Knowledge Sequence, Saxon Math and Spalding Language Arts. Other subjects include art, music, French, Latin, broadcasting, digital media, information technology, PE etc. Certified teachers with extensive training implement these curricula. For upper division students, Freedom Preparatory Academy offers several extracurricular activities. Cross-country, track, co-ed soccer, basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, and mock trial teams hold tryouts annually. Additionally, Freedom Preparatory Academy has several clubs, afterschool classes and a robust student council program for all ages. Freedom Preparatory Academy provides a traditional, back-to-basics environment by limiting class size to 25 students, instituting a dress code policy, and asking parents to voluntarily commit to 40 hours of school service per school year.
