NE CORRECTIONAL YOUTH FACILITY
Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility is a maximum, medium and minimum security facility. The Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility (NCYF) came into existence in 1994 with Legislative Bill 988 which created the Office of Juvenile Services and established the requirement to plan for the construction of a Secure Youth Confinement Facility. Subsequently the facility was transferred to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. The NCYF received its first inmates in August 1998.General Information-NCYF is a maximum-security facility designed for inmates from early adolescence to age 21 years, 10 months. The building encompasses approximately 54,000 square feet with a construction cost of approximately $10.8 million. The Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility received its original accreditation by the American Correctional Association in May 2000, and undergoes reaccreditation every three years.The construction and maintenance section of NCYF is established to insure the physical plant is maintained in good condition and make any alterations or additions necessary to operate a safe, clean, and efficient facility.Support services includes food service, staff development, recreation, and record management. The food service department provides inmates with three meals daily, which are nutritionally designed to meet the needs of youthful offenders. These meals are prepared under sanitary conditions with the assistance of inmates working in the food service department. All NCYF staff receives the required number of training hours per year as outlined in the ACA Standards. All inmate records are secured in the Records Manager's office and are managed in a confidential manner.Custody and Unit Management are major operational areas within Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility with a focus on management, programming and discipline that protects staff, inmates and the public. Rules and regulations are in place, and inmates housed at the facility are expected to follow them. Violations of rules may result in disciplinary hearings. Disciplinary action from such hearings may mean a loss of certain privileges and/or reclassification to a higher custody level. Security management activities are the responsibility of all staff.Per diem includes inmate wages, clothing, cleaning supplies, food and food supplies, household supplies, inmate transportation, and other inmate related institutional supplies.Inmates may apply to participate in community custody programs prior to work release such as work detail, or education release. The application is reviewed by the unit classification committee and by the institution's Warden.

We are at Cooper Memorial Farm, located at 8502 Mormon Bridge Road, Omaha, NE 68152. We are pleased to announce that as of February 24, 2012, NOVATreatment Community is providing all of our behavioral health services at our new location in Omaha. We are at Cooper Memorial Farm, located at 8502 Mormon Bridge Road, Omaha, NE 68152. We are a nonprofit organization that has provided behavioral health services for over 25 years to more than 7,000 individuals with substance use disorders and mental health problems. NOVA provides residential and outpatient treatment programs for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as foster care placement and in-home services.
