The 53rd commencement exercises of Sweet Home Central School District showcased a class full of passion, dreams, memories and a keen sense of friendship and family.Seniors Michael Biggane and Ryan Pickering opened the ceremony by leading the pledge of allegiance. After a welcome by principal Joleen Reinholz, class representatives Michelle Said, Kristen Milleville, Sarah Fiordaliso and Leyla Mamedova addressed their classmates. Each shared many memories of the Class of 2012 and all spoke of how well prepared they are for the future because of their four years at Sweet Home High School. Lenny Ranallo then treated the audience to a classical guitar solo.Following Ranallo, Superintendent Anthony J. Day took the stage. He thanked the seniors for making Sweet Home one of the very best school districts in Western New York and highlighted the hard work and determination as evident by the 90 percent of the graduating class that will attend a 2 or 4 year college next year. He urged the graduating class to dream big, find their passion and work hard. He also reminded them that failure can be a good thing because in order to fail one must take risks, and by taking risks, will only make the graduates a better professional and person.
