onita School is a small, rural, K-8 school located at the foot of Mt. Graham on the edge of the Coronado National Forest. The school is in Graham County, Arizona approximately 40 miles from Safford, and 30 miles from Willcox.
The student population is currently at 106 and this count rarely fluctuates more than 10% up or down. Class sizes average 10 to 12 students.
The staff consists of twelve certificated teachers, six support staff, and one district administrator.

Graham County has a total of 9 school districts along with 3 private schools and 3 charter schools. The County School Superintendent provides administrative assistance to the public school districts only. The County School Superintendent does not preside or hold jurisdiction over the school districts. Districts are run by their community elected governing boards.
