Memphis ISD is a small rural district located in the southeast corner of the Texas Panhandle between Childress and Clarendon on Highway 287. Memphis is mostly an agricultural community with a population of 2400. We have 4 campuses throughout the district: Travis Elementary serves PK – 2nd grade, Austin Elementary serves 3rd – 5th grade, Memphis Middle School serves 6th – 8th grade and Memphis High School serves 9th – 12th grade. Memphis ISD has been through two consolidations, one with the Estelline School and the other with the Lakeview School.
