Crandall Independent School District (CISD) is a growing rural school district located 23 miles southeast of Dallas along Highway 175. It includes 84.9 square miles and more than 2,800 students and over 250 employees. CISD is fully accredited (PK – 12) by the Texas Education Agency and the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities. In cooperation with parents, business leaders, and community members, the District shall provide a quality education for all students in a way that: 1. Provides a diversified curriculum involving problem-solving and technological advances to maximize learning opportunities. 2. Develops students' self-esteem, individual motivation, and personal responsibility/accountability. 3. Encourages a positive environment. Since the turn of the century, Forney ISD has been ranked as one of the fastest-growing school districts in the State of Texas. During the 2009-2010 school year, Forney ISD had a total enrollment of more than 8,000 students and more than 1,100 teachers and staff. The make up of the district includes nine elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools and one alternative school spread out across the district that spans more than 79 square miles. The Kaufman Independent School district is comprised of seven campuses: Helen Edwards Early Childhood Center, J. W. Monday Primary, J. R. Phillips Elementary, Lucille Nash Intermediate, O. P. Norman Jr. High, Kaufman High School and the Kaufman Alternative Learning Center.
