Brownsville Ascend Charter School opened in 2009 as the second school in the Ascend network. In 2011-2012 the school is serving 410 students in kindergarten through third grade at a newly constructed facility at 123 East 98th Street. During the 2012-2013 school year, Brownsville Ascend will move into a newly renovated six-story building in Community School District #23. The school will grow by a grade each year to serve more than 1,000 students in grades K-12 at maturity.

Beginning with Children Foundation (BwCF) co-founded CPCS in 2000 with a group of parents from Fort Greene, Brooklyn, who were interested in replicating the Beginning with Children Charter School in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that was started eight years earlier.The school started with grades K-1 on Clermont Avenue, eventually outgrowing its space and co-locating two grades at PS 9 for two years before moving to shared space at PS 270 in 2004.CPCS recently amended its charter to allow it to grow to serve grades 6-8. Its new middle school, currently consisting of grades 5 - 7, is located nearby at PS 256 at 114 Kosciusko St. in Brooklyn. In 2012-13, the school will reach full enrollment of 450 students in K-8.

The Hebrew Language Academy Charter School ("HLA") is a dual language public elementary school located in Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 2009, HLA's mission is to provide a nurturing yet rigorous dual language program committed to fostering academic excellence and a high degree of Hebrew language proficiency. Our school provides students with a sophisticated core curriculum in English Language Arts, mathematics, the sciences, social studies, art, music, technology and physical education. The Hellenic Classical Charter School will provide students in grades kindergarten through eight with a rigorous classical education that is rich in challenging content.
