The mission of Lenoir City Schools is to create a positive educational environment of mutual respect where each student shall discover opportunities to develop necessary skills and attitudes to perform at a level of personal excellence in the twenty-first century. The Lenoir City School System was organized in 1907, and has been a separate school system since the city was chartered. It consists of an elementary school, grades Pre K-5, a middle school, grades 6-8, a high school, grades 9-12, and a Central Office. The system is governed by a five-member school board, which is elected by the general population. Through a strong academic program, progressive use of technology, commitment to fine arts, outstanding vocational classes, competitive athletic program, and active participation in the Loudon County Education Foundation, the Lenoir City Schools are committed to building Lenoir City's future one student at a time.
