BLAST IU 17
BLaST Intermediate Unit 17 is a regional educational service agency created by the Pennsylvania General Assembly in 1971 to serve the needs of public and nonpublic schools in Bradford, Lycoming, Sullivan, and Tioga Counties. As a regional educational service agency, Intermediate Unit 17 has no direct line of authority over local school districts. In addition to providing requested services, the Intermediate Unit implements programs and services mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the State Board of Education, the Pennsylvania General Assembly, the United States Department of Education, and the United States Congress. Members of the Intermediate Unit 17 staff are proud of the services they provide, and they welcome inquiries from the community and recipients of services.

EAST LYCOMING SD
The East Lycoming School District is located in rural Lycoming County in central Pennsylvania and is home for about 10,500 residents. The district was established in 1957 and currently serves approximately 1800 students, K-12. The district, which encompasses 147.6 square miles, includes seven townships, (Penn, Jordan, Moreland, Mill Creek, Franklin, Wolf and Shrewsbury) and two Boroughs, (Hughesville and Picture Rocks). The communities are rural and feature scenic mountain vistas, farms and a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities for all seasons. With small, friendly neighborhoods and strong family values, the East Lycoming School District offers an ideal environment to educate children. The East Lycoming School District is committed to utilizing universal resources to provide a safe, professional learning environment, which is responsive to the individual needs and abilities of children, by implementing a challenging, integrated curriculum that will encourage each student to become a contributing citizen and life-long learner in a global community.

JERSEY SHORE AREA SD
Our mission: The Jersey Shore Area School District will provide a supportive environment where staff uses effective data-based instruction to help every student meet academic and social success. Our vision: The Jersey Shore Area School District will prepare students to meet all graduation requirements and to be prepared for the next step in their life plan whether it involves post-secondary education, technical training or employment. Students will be academically prepared, will be responsible and will be able to live and work in a cooperative manner.

LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP SD
Loyalsock Township School District comprises an area covering slightly over twenty-one (21) square miles in Lycoming County. The District consists of the Donald E. Schick Elementary School (grades K-5), the Loyalsock Township Middle School (grades 6-8), and the Loyalsock Township High School (grades 9 – 12). There are approximately 1450 students enrolled in our district. In addition to classroom teachers, service to students is provided by district administrators, two district librarians, learning specialists, reading specialists, counselors, psychologists, two nurses, and speech and hearing specialists. Paraprofessionals provide additional assistance in our schools. The District contracts some Special Education services from BLaST Intermediate Unit. The District boasts a rigorous, relevant standards-based curriculum. District students consistently demonstrate high achievement on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) in mathematics, reading, and writing. Other strengths of the district include: above-average SAT scores, above-average Advanced Placement participation and scores, above average proportion of teachers with master’s degrees, a high graduation rate, well-above average of graduating students with intentions to pursue college degrees, a high attendance rate, many local, state, and national awards in co-curricular activities, extra-curricular activities and athletics. Most recently, the Loyalsock Township High School District received recognition by U.S. News & World Report as a silver medalist.

MUNCY SD
Muncy School District includes the townships of Muncy and Muncy Creek as well as the Borough of Muncy. The district is approximately thirty-six square miles with a student population of more than 1000 students in grades kindergarten through twelve. The students are housed in Ward L. Myers Elementary School (grades K-6) and Muncy Junior-Senior High School (grades 7-12). Mission of the Muncy School District: Respecting individual worth, the Muncy School District will develop in each individual the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become a lifelong learner, a positive contributor to society, and a successful competitor in the global marketplace, by providing a continuum of quality, creative educational experiences, through a partnership of dedicated personnel, supportive families, and a growing, progressive community rich in tradition.

SCI Muncy (Lycoming County, 15 miles from Williamsport) is the diagnostic and classification center for the state's female inmates.
