As we begin the 2009-2010 school year, I want to strongly encourage you to be involved and informed about your child’s education in the Marion County School System. We will strive to provide an environment that is safe, one that is conducive to learning, and one that will promote and encourage student, parent, and community involvement.
Winfield City Schools is comprised of one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accredited the high school in 1958 and the elementary school in 1966. The Winfield Middle School (WMS) was established in 1996 due to increased enrollment at the elementary level. WMS consists of grades five through eight and was accredited by SACS in 2001. The vision of Winfield City Schools, “A Tradition of Excellence”, exemplifies our commitment to continued improvement in the quality of education. Continuous improvement is truly a tradition within our system.
