Mission statement: We, the children, parents, and staff of Matagorda ISD are united in the pursuit of excellence. We are a school that accepts the responsibility for producing competent problem solvers, effective communicators, self directed learners, responsible citizens, and quality producers. Vision Statement: We want to be Matagorda ISD forever! We envision our school as a place where all children will succeed by developing ethical morals modeled by a competent and professional staff and supported by our community. Our children’s interests will come first as we challenge them with a rigorous curriculum to prepare them to compete in a global economy and instill a desire for personal success through life-long learning.

Palacios Independent School District is located on Matagorda Bay 110 miles from Houston and/or Corpus Christi and serves a 718 square-mile area of southwest Matagorda and southeast Jackson Counties. District schools (prekindergarten through grade 12) are fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency. The MISSION of the Palacios Independent School District, the heart of our close-knit, multicultural community, is to ensure that all students possess the knowledge and skills necessary to reach their full potential through an educational system characterized by a foundation of trust, a fully integrated community partnership, a hands-on, individualized curriculum, effective application of current technology, and a dedication to KEEPING STUDENTS FIRST!

Tidehaven ISD is a consolidated school district in Texas, which encompasses the communities of Ashby, Blessing, Buckeye, Clemville, El Maton, Markham, and Midfield. TISD has been in existence since the 1949-1950 school year. Tidehaven ISD currently has an enrollment of 786 students on four campuses. Tidehaven High School has an enrollment of 211 students in grades 9-12; Tidehaven IntermediateSchool has an enrollment of 191 students in grades 6-8; Blessing Elementary has an enrollment of 212 in grades PK-5; and Markham Elementaryhas an enrollment of 172 in grades PK-5. Our vision is to promote a sense of community in Tidehaven ISD where students, faculty, staff, administrators, parents, Board members, and community members assist each other in achieving their full potential, remembering that “Visions, like perfection are not destinations, but something to strive for.” Quote from the Bible: “People without vision shall perish.”
