The mission of the district is to provide comprehensive, success-oriented learning activities for all young people in our schools. KUSD #27 is the proud home of students and educators of the Navajo Nation of northeastern Arizona. We educate approximately 2,200 kindergarten through 12th graders. The majority of our students are bilingual, speaking the proud language of the Navajo people in their homes and English in school. We strive to allow, even encourage, a strong sense of who they are culturally and individually as we reflect this beautiful heritage in the processes and content of their everyday instruction and learning.
Our purpose is to prepare our students to become literate, creative, self-confident, responsible citizens and life-long learners. As they grow, they will be well prepared to meet the challenges of adulthood, possessing the skills necessary to live happy and successful lives.
