CORPUS CHRISTI MONTESSORI SCHOOL
Corpus Christi Montessori School (CCMS) is a non-profit, dual-language (Spanish-English) charter school founded on the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian physician and pioneer in child development from the early 1900s. Maria Montessori observed that children have a natural desire to learn for themselves through stimulating hands-on activities that help them grow into self-motivated, independent learners. Our program includes 1st through 8th grades. The lower elementary consists of 1st through 3rd grade multi-age classrooms. Upper elementary multi-age classrooms include 4th through 6th grade students. Middle School consists of 7 through 8th grade students. The educational principals developed by Maria Montessori are at the heart of this unique dual language program. The combination of the Montessori and dual language educational methodologies set the stage for optimum second language development. Two tracks exist within the school’s initial five-year growth plan: one Spanish Enrichment Montessori and one Dual Immersion Montessori (Spanish/English) track.
