The mission statement of CESA 8 is to promote, provide, and enhance quality learning opportunities for all students through the planning, development, and implementation of cooperative services and programs for school districts and communities.
The mission of the Gillett School District is to offer students high quality educational experiences in a secure learning environment which recognizes, values, and responds to students’ individual needs.
In the small district of Lena we have low student to teacher ratios as well as the opportunity for individual attention that is attainable in a small district. Some students do not realize the advantage we, as Lena Wildcats, have. In the Lena School District we have one (1) elementary school with 187 students in grades 4k-5. We also have one (1) middle school/ high school which consists of 228 students in grades 6-12. The principals of our schools are Carla Spice, elementary; David Honish, high school/middle school; and Mr. Honish also serves as Superintendent. There are educational programs designed to meet the individual needs of all students including those in talented and gifted programs as well as those who may have exceptional educational needs. The school district has also established the LEARN Charter School to serve students that may encounter difficulties in the traditional school setting.
We are proud of the accomplishments of our students and the great teachers and other staff members who work with the young people coming through our school house doors. Our goal is to provide a high quality comprehensive education for all of our students and to continue to be a vital contributing force in our communities here in Northeastern Wisconsin.
We have 4 schools and soon to be 5. Oconto Elementary School, Oconto Literacy Charter School, Oconto Middle School, Oconto High School. The Bayshore Community Academy will open in Fall of 2013 for grades 5-7. The following year grade 8 will be added. Our vision is “Leaders and Learners – Today and Tomorrow.” The District Strategic Plan is focusing on Character Education and Leadership (From good manners to good sportsmanship to getting along well with others and whether it’s in a classroom or work environment, students need guidance and skills. In addition, the gifts and talents of all need recognition and development at all grade levels); Parental Involvement (A partnership with all parents at all grade levels helps all children to succeed. Positive relationships and continual communication in both directions is the goal); Differentiated Instruction; Relevant Career and Education Skills (Each student learns in his/her own best way. Using all means available, teachers will cooperate to identify a student’s best learning style and provide resources and skills for that development whether it’s a gifted/talented learner or one who has special needs); Technology for the 21st Century and Accelerated Learning (All district employees shall use technology for the best possible learning and work experience while the district will attempt to maintain and keep current those tools without allowing them to rule the district).
The Mission Statement of Suring Public School District is to provide a safe, supportive, and academic environment that enables children to acquire the knowledge to be a successful life-long learner.
