Welcome to Scottsbluff Public Schools! You will find that our district has all of the big city opportunities that larger school districts have, but we offer a small town atmosphere and close-knit community as well. At Scottsbluff Public Schools our vision statement is:Educate to Excel ~ Prepare to Compete.Inspire to Serve ~ Challenge to Lead.We strive for excellence in academics and recognize that we are growing future leaders and active community members. Our teachers and staff are among the very best and are committed to helping each student find individual achievement through instruction and example. There are eight educational facilities in the district, including one early childhood school, five elementary K-5 schools, one middle school (grades 6-8) and one senior high (grades 9-12). There are a number of programs and opportunities that are unique to Scottsbluff Public Schools.Scottsbluff Early Childhood Program: Three preschool classrooms are located in the Scottsbluff Early Childhood Center. The center is designed to meet the individual developmental needs of children ages 3-4. Three teachers work cooperatively to teach lessons that focus on active learning. Children receive special one-on-one attention from educators, as there is one adult for every 5 children in the preschool. The school offers opportunities for advanced academic achievement. Beyond honors classes, students are also given the option to participate in high school algebra and high school physical science in the middle school. These courses expand curricular offerings for students who are looking for more challenging academic opportunities.Senior High School (SHS)-SHS enrolled 810 students in 2011-2012. When students enter SHS, they have various pathways to prepare them for future endeavors, whether it is a vocational, technical, work, military, or college area.SHS offers students an assortment of core and elective classes in all academic areas. Scottsbluff High School has award-winning programs in journalism, speech, drama and music, as well as four-year foreign language courses in Spanish and German.
