GODDARD
Goddard Schools — Leading in Excellence From the first graduating class in 1918, Goddard School District has proven itself a leader in educational excellence. More than 87% of our students continue their education in college or vocational training. Our students are recognized by the college community for the excellent scholastic preparation provided by Goddard School District — recognition that is verified by thousands of dollars in scholarships and awards granted our graduates each year. Goddard's administration understands the delicate balance between traditionalism and change. Our teachers understand the importance of preparing students for an international community. We have a tradition of seeking the best instructional tools from innovative education methods. Goddard students are well-educated, not merely instructed. As one instructor explains, “Goddard is leading, not giving excuses.” A continual theme found in the Goddard School District is “Teachers Care.” In the midst of growing and changing times, we attract and keep outstanding teachers by offering quality surroundings accompanied by an excellent salary schedule.

With care and individual attention, we focus on putting each student on the road to a lifetime of learning. Encompassing 36 square miles of south-central Sedgwick County, the Haysville School District (USD 261) draws students from a wide range of urban and rural backgrounds to create a rich, well-blended student body. Our curriculum, designed to meet each student's educational needs, emphasizes the core academic areas of reading, math, science, and social studies, while incorporating all State of Kansas standards for education and reflecting national curriculum reform efforts.

MAIZE
Connecting. Learning. Leading. The Maize district has an outstanding reputation as one of the premier districts in the state and I am anxious to provide the leadership and support to make it even better. The Maize School District is located on the rapidly growing northwest side of Wichita. Noted for being progressive and innovative, Maize schools also provide a personal and caring atmosphere. The schools stand at the heart of the community life in Maize. Academic, artistic, athletic and musical achievements of young people create a spirit of involvement that extends to young and old alike. The school system, which houses more than 6,600 students in eight buildings, is the 12th-largest school district in the state. Although this suburban school district serves a large number of students, maintaining the qualities of a small town, friendly atmosphere is a priority.

MULVANE
Welcome to Mulvane Academy Charter School! Our school is a district sponsored charter school, established in 2004. We serve students in grades 9-12, who have struggled to find success in the traditional high school setting. Our focus is on building relationships with students and parents. We believe that a caring, individualized instructional environment will impact student achievement in a positive way. Mulvane Academy is similar to Mulvane High School in several ways. First of all, we use the same curriculum, offering many of the same courses found at the high school. We also have the same grading scale. Our students have a regular schedule of classes, 6 hours a day. Students graduating from Mulvane Academy receive a Mulvane High School Diploma. Mulvane Academy differs from the traditional high school in several ways. First of all, it's smaller -- we are limited to 20 students. As a result, all students receive one-on-one instruction. Our small numbers also enable each student to have an Individualized Learning Plan, or ILP. This plan is created by the student. It involves goal setting, action plans for each goal, and personal conferencing with teachers. Our classes are a mixture of direct instruction and computerized curriculum, thus addressing a variety of learning styles. Any student wishing to attend Mulvane Academy is required to complete an entrance interview. Parents are required to attend the interview, as well as agree to attend all parent/teacher/student conferences, if admitted. The student must be a Mulvane District resident. Both the student and the parent must sign a contract outlining attendance, achievement, and behavior expectations. We are very proud of the exceptional progress our students have made in the short time Mulvane Academy has been open. The support of the Mulvane community, district administration, and our parents has helped us make a huge difference in the lives of many students.

SEDGWICK CO AREA EDUCATIONAL SERVS
It is the philosophy of the Sedgwick County Area Educational Services Interlocal Cooperative to provide a free and appropriate educational program to assist all exceptional children in reaching all levels of attainment compatible with their potential. To promote the success of any special program, a team approach must be accepted and implemented by all personnel, regular and special, that serve exceptional children. The various stages of planning, implementing and administering special services require that all personnel agree that the express purpose of all special programs is to serve the exceptional child, and all considerations should be directed toward the welfare of the exceptional child whether he/she be a home student, out of district student, a special class student, or one served by an itinerant teacher. It is expected that the exceptional child be a recipient of all the privileges and services granted other students and by the same token it is expected that he/she be charged with all responsibilities of "studentship" that he/she is capable of handling.

SOUTH CENTRAL KS EDUCATION SERV CNT
South Central Kansas Education Service Center (SCKESC) is one of seven service agencies in the state of Kansas. The purpose of these organizations is to furnish more efficient and/or economical services to maximize educational opportunities for Kansas students. Service centers also act as liaisons between local districts and Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE). Unlike school districts, none of our funding comes from state allocations. By statute our organization does not levy taxes or claim student aid. We apply for and receive competitive state, federal and private grants and also operate through support from membership dues and fee-for-service. Service centers are public entities, which operate in a highly entrepreneurial fashion. We blend the benevolence of the public sector with the spirit and ingenuity of the private sector. Our office and meeting facilities are located in Clearwater, Kansas, just a few miles southwest of Wichita.
