The Alcester-Hudson School District includes the rural communities of Alcester and Hudson located in southeast South Dakota. This district encompasses 176 square miles including some of Union and Lincoln County. This district is an agricultural based community with newer settled families who are escaping from the large cities, as well as many life-long residents. The Alcester-Hudson School serves approximately 276 students, with 153 in grades K-6, 44 in Junior High and 79 High School students. The Alcester-Hudson Schools is fully accredited by the South Dakota Department of Education and is a member of the Southeast Area Educational Co-op.
We are pleased to serve 630 students in the Beresford community and surrounding area. The Dakota Valley School District only occupies 31.6 square miles and is located in the extreme southeast corner of South Dakota, bounded on the east by the Big Sioux River, and on the west and south by the Missouri River. The mission of Dakota Valley Schools is to ensure all students receive an enriched educational experience in a safe environment.
