Mission Statement: In partnership with community and parents, Canton ISD will empower students to become lifelong learners committed to academic excellence, integrity, responsible citizenship and service to others.
District Mission: Through teamwork and cooperation, the Edgewood Independent School District Board of Trustees is committed to adopting policies and making decisions intended to promote and maintain an exemplary school system that challenges, supports, and empowers our students to achieve their absolute maximum potential in a safe learning environment that is built around the small town values and expectations for which the community off Edgewood is known.
Fruitvale ISD is a district that is founded on small town values. All people and children are treated as wonderful members of our family. A small school with a big heart for all children would be a good motto. Fruitvale is located in the heart of East Texas on Hwy 80 between Grand Saline and Edgewood. Fruitvale ISD offers many programs to our students including Head Start, full-day Pre-Kindergarten, FFA, FCCLA, National Honor Society, Student Council, Yearbook, Band, and services for Gifted Students including Robotics and UIL. Fruitvale also boasts a growing athletic program that includes: Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Track, Baseball, Softball, Golf, Tennis, and Cheerleading. Students are encouraged to engage in more than academics but to grow as leaders and team members. Fruitvale Junior High and High School was also selected as one of the state’s premier T-STEM Academies for the 2007- 2010 school years. This has given our teachers and students access to wonderful training and camps that would not otherwise be available. We also are currently offering a full range of college courses through Trinity Valley Community College for juniors and seniors. Some of these classes are offered through our state of the art Distance Learning Lab which gives teachers and students access to classes and training worldwide. Fruitvale ISD is a Recognized District with the State of Texas. Hallie Randall Elementary and Fruitvale Junior High are also Recognized campuses. The district also was awarded two teacher incentive grants this year including the District Award for Teacher Excellence and the Texas Educator Excellence Award. These incentives for teachers give them an opportunity to be rewarded for their extra efforts in teaching. Our parents and community members are one of a kind. They give support and volunteer in many ways to help the school system. Fruitvale ISD has every reason to boast of their accomplishments as a district.
Our vision at Grand Saline is, “Changing the World One Student at a Time”. The talented and committed staff in our district plays a key role in helping achieve this vision.
OUR MISSION: The Martin’s Mill Community School is committed to individual excellence both in and out of the classroom. This will be accomplished by providing our students a quality education and the life skills to successfully meet the challenges of tomorrow in a democratic society, while maintaining financial efficiency.
The Ranch Academy has been in operation since 1999 and is an open-enrollment public charter school. We have two campuses; one in Canton, Texas and one in Tyler, Texas. We have a maximum enrollment of 150 students. Our Tyler campus enrolls males from kindergarten through twelfth grade and the Canton campus has both males and females, sixth through twelfth grade. Both campuses specialize in working with students who are at-risk for various reasons. We plan for self-paced, individualized instruction for every student. We have high expectations for our students and continually strive to provide them with quality instruction, resources and facilities. We are fully accredited and specialize in credit recovery, accelerated instruction, and working with students who are experiencing struggles and/or a transition period in their life. Our mission is to promote individual success towards educational and career goals or college readiness. We will instill a positive attitude, improved decision making abilities and increased social skills to encourage confident and independent citizens.
At Van ISD, our core belief is, “EVERY child has the right to be prepared to attend college, and it is the responsibility of the adults in our schools to put systems in place to make that happen.” This is a responsibility we take very seriously. We believe a students’ pursuit of a college education begins the moment they walk through our doors in kindergarten and continues as they complete their high school diploma. But just graduating from high school is not enough to succeed in the real world. Our desire is that every student who graduates from Van High School will pursue a college degree or some form of post secondary education. Educating a child is a team effort.
