Create and maintain a consistent, orderly and disciplined learning environment with evidence of increased levels of respect, responsibility, safety and kindness through the PBIS program.Develop a budget that funds the academic and educational needs of all of our students, provides for an efficient use of facilities, while respecting and understanding the financial needs of the taxpayers in our district.Use local, state and national achievement data (quantitative), anecdotal teacher observation and perception data (qualitative), and a Value-Added Growth Model of student progress to drive district decision-making at all levels and areas.Maintain an efficient schedule of a sufficient number and variety of extracurricular and athletic opportunities to involve the greatest possible number of students in performance, teamwork and sportsmanship.Establish and maintain open communication, trust and credibility through newsletters, websites, Parent-teacher conferences, evening informational events, and personal accessibility.Provide a greater number of meal choices of improved nutritional value; maintain buildings and grounds that are clean, well-groomed, hazard-free, and well-lit with clear signage; and operate a safe transportation system with bus runs of no more than one hour.
Located in southwestern Wayne County, the Palmyra-Macedon Central School District enjoys the benefits of a rural atmosphere and a close proximity to Monroe County and the City of Rochester. The historic Erie Canal extends through the boundaries of the School District. The Village of Palmyra is home to cultural and historic venues; the Towns of Macedon and Palmyra are home to industry with longstanding roots as well as numerous commercial opportunities and recent developments. The Palmyra-Macedon Central School District has strong ties to numerous community recreation programs in addition to the wealth of opportunities in the surrounding area. Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES (Board of Cooperative Educational Services) is an organization which provides quality educational services and programs for 25 school districts and residents of Wayne, Ontario, Seneca and Yates counties. It is committed to working in partnership with all its stakeholders to improve students' academic performance throughout the region.
